Estonia Song and Dance Festival
In 2025, the Song and Dance Celebration takes place in Tallinn. This tradition, that is included in the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list, is a must see event that will leave no one unimpressed.
During the course of four days you can enjoy the Dance Celebration, the Folk Music Celebration, the large ceremonial procession of all the participants, and of course the culmination is the Song Celebration concert. Each time, almost 25,000 performers and tens of thousands of spectators gather in Tallinn to take part and enjoy the festival.

Estonia Song and Dance Festival Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Tallinn!
On your arrival at Tallinn airport a driver will wait for you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name on it and will drive you to your accommodation. The journey takes about 15 minutes.
Arriving in Tallinn, you can immediately immerse yourself in the medieval charm of its beautifully preserved Old Town, explore cobblestone streets, and take in the panoramic views from the city’s historic towers and viewing platforms. Day 2: Discover the Old Town of Tallinn, Dance Celebration
Enjoy a fun and history-packed walking tour of Tallinn Old Town with a knowledgeable local guide. This beautiful capital is a lively yet peaceful, photogenic and charming city full of wonderful sights and rich culture. A city that combines the modern world with ancient churches, medieval streetscapes and noble merchants’ houses. The UNESCO listed Old Town is one of the best preserved Hanseatic town centres in the world. You will cover all the most important sights of this medieval city from the bustling main streets to less known side alleys. Discover beautiful old churches, unique merchant houses, historic town hall, and imposing city defences.
After the city tour you will head to Kalev Central Stadium in Tallinn where the Youth Dance Celebration “Bridges” will take place. The performance tells a story of a young person who grows over time, who builds, creates and searches for bridges within, in order to grow into a happy person. The performances last for about 1.5 – 2 hours and we have included entry tickets for you. Due to traffic restrictions, we suggest either walking to/from the stadium or using public transport. Day 3: Folk Music Celebration
Today you have a free day and we suggest you check out the Folk Music celebration taking place at the Freedom Square. The even is free! he Folk Music Celebration provides a means of expression for those young people who have found the meaning of belonging, a sense of togetherness and a common language in this music and form of music making. Freedom square is right in the old town so you can easily walk there and spend as much time there as you wish before continuing your Tallinn exploration. Photo credit: Jaanus Ree
Free time: Today we suggest you head out of the old town and explore one of the surrounding neighbourhoods. Beautiful and tranquil Kadriorg park and palace, built more than 300 years ago on the orders of Russian Tsar Peter the Great. Vibrant Telliskivi Creative City with numerous design shops, restaurants, and cultural institutions. Rotermann Quarter, a former industrial centre turned into one of the city’s most prominent oases of modern architecture or a newest addition to the city – Noblessner seafront quarter. A former submarine factory, now a modern urban space filled with galleries, design shops, a marina, and restaurants perfect for admiring the sunset.
Day 4: Song Celebration
It’s time for the main event – The Song Celebration. Start the day with watching the ceremonial procession which goes through the centre of Tallinn. You can also walk along with all the dancers and singers for the five-kilometre route till the Song Festival Grounds. Once there, you can enjoy different choirs and symphony orchestras perform multiple songs composed by different Estonian composers through the ages. The concert lasts about 6 hours and will begin and finish with performances by the combined choir. Photo credit: Jaanus Ree
Day 5: Farewell!
Time to say goodbye and end your Estonia Song and Dance Festival. Your driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Tallinn airport for your departing flight.
