Day 3: Meet the Arctic Animals
Your Finnish Lapland summer holiday won’t be complete without meeting the Arctic animals. Your day will start with a drive to the Husky farm where you get to meet the photogenic dogs. Use this opportunity and take as may photos as you can. During the visit you will get to walk around the husky kennel and learn about the every day life of the dogs and their breeders. If you visit during autumn, you can be part of the dog training and do a cart ride. It takes a lot of preparation and work before the dogs are as fit as they can be so this is your chance to help!
After that you will have a chance to meet reindeer. We have carefully chosen one of the most traditional reindeer farms where you will meet the reindeer herder family. You will explore everyday life in the farm, get to feed the reindeer and hear some great stories and facts about reindeer herding in Lapland and how it is an integral part of the nature and culture in Northern Finland. Duration of the reindeer and husky tour is about 5 hours.
Visiting Lapland during the off season is a great way to contribute to the regenerative travel movement.

This is a unique place in Lapland, hidden inside one of the hills. You will then learn more about local geology, the formation of the precious amethyst and the story of the mine.
