Day 2: Meet the Arctic Animals
Your Finnish Lapland summer holiday won’t be complete without meeting the Arctic animals. Your day will start with a drive to the Husky kennel where you get to meet the photogenic dogs. Use this opportunity and take as may photos as you can. During the visit you will get to walk around the husky kennel and learn about the every day life of the dogs and their breeders. If you visit during autumn, you can be part of the dog training and do a cart ride. It takes a lot of preparation and work before the dogs are as fit as they can be so this is your chance to help!
After that you will have a chance to meet reindeer. We have carefully chosen one of the most traditional reindeer farms where you will meet the reindeer herder family. You will explore everyday life in the farm, get to feed the reindeer and hear some great stories and facts about reindeer herding in Lapland and how it is an integral part of the nature and culture in Northern Finland. Duration of the reindeer and husky tour is about 5 hours.
Visiting husky and reindeer farms during the off-season is a great way to contribute to the regenerative travel movement.

Day 3: Ranua Wildlife Park Visit
Today you will have a chance to see some Arctic animals in a Ranua zoo – the northernmost zoo in the world. If you were hoping to see polar bears during your trip, then this is the only place you can see them as they are not native to Finland. Besides polar bears you can also see wolves, wolverines, lynxes, otters, wild boars and many other animal species there. After seeing the animals bathe, eat and groom, a tasty buffet lunch will be served before heading back to Rovaniemi.
Day 4: Overnight Bear Watching Experience
It’s time to leave Rovaniemi behind and head to Kuusamo where you can spend the night in a bear watching cabin. Your driver will pick you up from your accommodation and take you directly to a place near the Russian border, in Kuntilampi protected area. Here you can see wild brown bears in their natural environment. Besides brown bears you might also see some white-tailed eagles, ruffs and other waders. The log cabins are with big windows and openings, perfect for photographing. There are bunk beds with sleeping bags in case you need to lie down and also a gas cooker and dry toilet.
Day 5: Discover Pyhä-Luosto National Park
In the morning your driver will pick you up from the bear watching cabin and take you directly to Pyhä-Luosto National park. The park offers a versatile scenery and nature that is perfect for hiking, biking, fishing and bird watching. In the afternoon you have free time to walk around on your own or just relax in your accommodation for the day.
Day 6: Bird Watching Tour
Bird watching tour and walking around in the beautiful Lappish nature is probably one of the best ways to relax and spend your time in Pyhä-Luosto. The parks enchanting nature along with beautiful bogs and bird watching towers gives you a chance to experience nature in a completely different way. During the bird watching tour you will learn about the nature, birds and animals in Pyhä-Luosto area.
